Beaches in Blanes, Costa Brava

As you would imagine there are some fantastic beaches in Blanes with amazing soft sand underfoot where you can just spread your towel and relax the day away.

Some beaches are more public and busier than others so it is worth researching where you would like to spend your beach time before you head off. Some people prefer more secluded and private beach areas in Blanes so luckily, the area has everything on offer for all sun worshipers.

There are some four kilometers of beaches in total at the resort of Blanes, all with very different terrains. The main beaches are:

Treumal – course sand and a few facilities so not the most ideal for parents with young families but possibly a good choice for those of you that prefer a little more privacy for your sunbathing.

Sant Francesc – course sand and few facilities (Blue Flag status) – again this is not recommended for families with young children due to the lack of public facilities on the beach

Santa Ana – Pebbles and very few facilities -ideal for more privacy but this is not a sandy beach so you won’t really want to lay on a towel for your sunbathing.

Blanes – course sand and many facilities (Blue Flag status) – this is the main beach and with all the facilities on offer along this stretch of beach, it is the ideal location for families with children.

S’Abanell – course sand and many facilities including water sports (Blue Flag status) – again this is a great location for families but please note there are watersports on this beach so for younger children it might be better to use Blanes beach instead.

Blanes offers a choice of beaches all with food and bars close by. It is not difficult to forget you are actually in Spain when relaxing on one of the beaches as they are like being on a private Caribbean island.
