Blanes holiday and hotel information
Blanes is a jewell located in the very south of Girona next to the opening of the river Tordera. The town of Blanes itself is ideally located right at the base of the Mount Sant Joan and next to the sea.
For those of you that are considering a holiday to the Costa Brava then you would be well advised to consider Blanes as your holiday destination. You will be served adequatley by modern facilities whilst enjoying a break in an authentic fishing town with plenty of magnificent scenery and lots of facilities to keep you amused throughout the day and night.
Temperature
The average temperature in Blanes through the year is 16 degrees, although in the summer months it gets much hotter.
History in brief
The area of Blanes has much history and it is believed that some of this history dates back to prehistoric times. Origianlly at around 218BC, the area was known as Blanda and was occupied by Romans. After the fall of the Roman Empire the town like many in Spain went through a period of Morrish occupation.
At the beginning of the 20th century the docks were opened and this ultimately led to the growth of the economy.

There are some four kilometers of beaches at Blanes all with very different terrains. The main beaches are:
Treumal - course sand and a few facilities.
Sant Francesc - course sand and few facilities (Blue Flag status)
Santa Ana - Pebbles and very few facilities
Blanes - course sand and many facilities (Blue Flag status)
S'Abanell - course sand and many facilities including water sports (Blue Flag status)
