A review of eating out in the Estepona areaAs eating is one of my favorite pass times and as I eat at many many different restaurants in Estepona and throughout Spain, I thought it a nice idea to actually put to words my experiences (good or bad) and details of prices, service and accessibility. I hope you enjoy reading the reviews and I look forward, as always
to any comments you might have on the email address below: Jaipur Purple - Indian Restaurant Getting there: If you happen to miss the turning take the turning by Mercadona (basically the next turning) and double back on the service road. From Estepona you will pass the Kempinski Hotel on your right, Laguna Village (home to Puro Beach Club) and the Las Dunas Hotel. Once you see the garden centre on your left (Agro Jardin) you will soon see the Cancelada exit. Taks this exit and follow up to the top roundabout. At the top you turn left and go over the top of the dual carriageway (N340). Go straight across the next roundabout and pass the new Hotel Selenza on your right. At the next mini roundabout turn right and go across the next roundabout too. At the next roundabout (where there is a pylon in the middle) turn right and follow down to the Mercadona supermarket. Got around the roundabout to the left and use the service road running in front of the Mercadona. Be careful as there are nearly always large pot holes. Pass the entrance to Supersol supermarket and now you will have to make a challenging and more than likely illegal maneuver. Carefully go down and immediately turn left in to the garage. Go through the garage and out of the entrance and immediately turn left into the Centro Commercial Costa del Sol. If all of that is just too radical for you don't come off at Cancelada, instead follow to the next exit marked Benahavis, go to the roundabout, follow around and rejoin on the main road heading back towards Estepona. Now follow the instructions above as if you were coming from Marbella (well the latter part anyway). The Food: There were 2 of us dining. We started off with a vodka and tonic each and a large bottle of still water. We were then presented with complimentary poppadoms and the associated condiments. We did not have any starters although they all looked very appealing. For our main courses we had a chicken vindaloo, a "chefs special" chicken kadpai, one spinnach rice, a cauliflower bhajee, a cucumber raita, one plain nam bread and one stuffed paratha. To drink we had a bottle of Marques de Caceres crianza from Rioja. After our meal we were treated to a complimentary drink of our choice. The Review: One of the best Indian meals I have had and the service was everything you could hope for. The Price: The Rating: Please keep checking back for more reviews and we always look forward to your feedback |
