Fuengirola holiday guideFuengirola on the Costa del Sol is by far one of the most popular and busy holiday resorts that you will find along the entire coastline of the famous tourist hot spot, the Costa del Sol. Every year hundreds of thousands of tourists arrive in Fuengirola to enjoy a break on one of Spain's most popular Costa's. As a holiday destination, Fuengirola caters for every age group and for singles, couples or families. You will find activities to suit the whole family or if relaxation is your thing, then you will have the longest stretch of sandy beach on the Costa del Sol to pick a spot and lay back in the hot sunshine. The more adveturous of holiday makers in Fuengirola will not be disappointed either as there are every type of water sport activity available along the bach from scuba diving to water skiing. If water is not your thing then fear not as there is a go-carting track, a cinema complex, hundreds of shops, mini golf, professional golf courses and even pony trekking in the mountains. In addition, many of the hotels provide other activities and things like bike hire etc. Talking of hotels in Fuengirola, there is certainly no shortage of accommodation and new hotels still seem to be popping up all of the time. No matter what your budget is, you are sure to find suitable accommodation in Fuengirola as it really does have it all. From hostal style accommodation through to 3 star hotels and right up to luxury 5 star hotels. Access to other parts and holiday resorts on the Costa del Sol from Fuengirola is also very easy as it is situated next to the main connecting road (N340 / A7). Some of the more popular trips for tourists in Fuengirola are things like Fuengirola Zoo, the Selwo Dolphin show and trips to places like the mountain village of Mijas (where the famous eastenders scene was filmed when Frank, played by Costa de Sol resident Mike Reid, came back from the dead and was paid off by Peggy). However, Mijas is not just famous for it's appearence in Eastenders, it has some beautiful restaurants, fantastic views and donkey rides around the village. So to summarise, Fuengirola is a very popular holiday destination. It is quite built up and is fair to say, it is not one of the prettiest resorts on the Costa del Sol. It does however, have every imaginable facility on hand for a perfect holiday. If you are looking for a quiet holiday I would not recommend Fuengirola in the high season. For younger adults in pursuit of fun, sun, bars and clubs, welcome to Fuengirola. You will not go home disappointed. There are literally hundreds of bars and clubs to choose from in Fuengirola. |
