The Spanish property market

Well the Spanish property boom is over and many real estate agents in Spain don't expect it to ever come back the way it was. With corruption cases in the newspapers virtually every week and Spanish developers filing for bankruptcy you would think that no one would ever buy in Spain again. The reality of the matter is that Spain remains a highly sought after location for buyers from all over the world.

We are seeing a demand for good priced properties in Spain from many Northern Europeans even from the UK despite the exchange rate.

What is being lost in the exchange rate is be compensated by the lower cost of properties in Spain.

The truth is that there are some real bargains to be picked up either directly from the developers or from owners desperate to sell to lighten their financial burdens and, in many cases these owners ar even willing to take a loss just to get rid.

What are the best areas?

The pinch has been felt more in some areas than in others. Madrid for example is not in freefall whereas some parts ot the various Costa's are seeing prices tumble due to the number of empty proerties.

But don't be fooled. Not all developers will sell for the sake of it. Some would rather sit on the properties and wait for the market to recover than sell at a loss.

That aside places like the Costa del Sol have a great number of bargains available so use the links below to see more information.
