Holidays

Just a short flight from most major European airports Spain remains one of the most popular holiday destinations with many different resorts across the mainlain and its Islands.

In the summer all Spanish Holiday resorts are bathed in hot sunshine with many hours of daylight making it the ideal country for a sunshine break.

From the Costa Brava in the north east of Spain, where you will find the Spanish holiday resorts of Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and Blanes through to the Costa Blanca, home to famous holiday resorts like Alicante, Benidorm and Torrevieja.

As you head further along the coast you come across Murcia where you will find the inland ‘sea’ of the Mar Menor. This is all on the coast called the Costa Calida (the warm coast) which seems to have the highest average temperatures throughout the year. Next is the Costa Almeria where you will find places like Roquetas de Mar and then the Costa Tropical, home of the popular Spanish holiday resort of Almunecar.

As you continue along the coastline you will hit the world famous Costa del Sol which is home to many of the major Spanish holiday resorts like Nerja, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estepona.

Finally as you skirt around the rock of Gibraltar you hit the Costa de la Luz on the Atlantic Ocean with some real up and coming Spanish holiday resorts like Tarifa, Zahara de los Atunes, Conil de le Frontera, Huelva and Ayamonte.

There certainly is no shortage of amazing holiday resorts to choose from in Spain. The main thing you need to consider is what type of Spanish holiday you are looking for.

If you want lazy beach days then all resorts have something for you. If you want nightlife until the early hours of the morning you will be better looking at the main resorts in each Costa like Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava, Benidorm or Alicante on the Costa Blanca and Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella on the Costa del Sol.

The Costa Calida, Costa Almeria, Costa Tropical and the Costa de la Luz are much more reserved and quieter, maiking the ideal holiday destinations for sunshine, peace and quiet.
